Artwork is one of the most important factors when considering Direct to Garment printing. Artwork that is complex, full of colors or gradients, or simply short runs that contain several different colors are always welcome. Additionally, if you are only looking to have a small run printed, then it will likely be far less expensive to have us digitally print them.
It is important to understand that you must properly prepare the file for submittion in order to save time and money on your job. Also, this will enable us to get the best possible print quality with whatever files we are provided.
We have found that the best possible prints come from artwork that is submitted in the following manner:
CMYK PSD File
300 dpi (anything more is overkill, and serves only to increase file size)
All layers merged together as one, with a transparent background.
Artwork MUST be sized to print before it is submitted, and all colors adjusted as you see fit.
Artwork Setup- Under 24 pieces $15.00 charge per design.
All of these requirements must be fulfilled in order for us to quickly and effectively process your artwork. Remember - this is the most vital step in ensuring that your final product is as vibrant and stunning as it can possibly be.
It is also a good idea to make use of the BRIGHTNESS / CONTRAST sliders in Adobe Photoshop to add greater contrast to your images. This will help to bring out the brightest possible colors in your prints. Other good tools are the FOREGROUND FILL (to replace duller areas of color with brighter shades of the same color), CURVES, COLOR BALANCE, and HUE / SATURATION. The goal is to make the image a little brighter than you actually want it to print (without washing out the color and detail, and ensuring you are in CMYK mode when you do it), so that the shirt comes out to your satisfaction the first time we print it.
